Marjorie Charlton
Marjorie Charlton is originally from Palos Verdes, Los Angeles, CA. She holds a degree in Philosophy from Loyola Marymount University. Living outside of the States for more than 27 years, in various different countries, working in the luxury hospitality business, Marjorie now calls Mexico home.
Marjorie´s keen interest in other cultures, healing modalities and ways of life has taken her around the globe where she grew her spa career with the Four Seasons; from a therapist to Spa Director and finally a Spa Consultant. She has worked for the Four Seasons in Thailand, China, Mauritius, India, Egypt and Abu Dhabi. Fulfilling her desires to work more in depth at the source: Asia.
Her opportunities in these other countries has exposed her to a range of different therapies, modalities, treatments, herbs and philosophies. Which lead her to focus on Asian and Aryuvedic medicine and massage, along with aromatherapy and herbal medicine.
Marjorie´s returned to the America´s and landed in Mexico City working with Las Alcobas to create Atrio, the Spa at Las Alcobas Napa Valley (currently Alila by Hyatt) and reconcept Aurora Spa, Las Alcobas Mexico City.
During her time with Las Alcobas, she created the hotel training programs and luxury hospitality culture, which eventually lead her to a management position. While maintaining her post at Las Alcobas, Marjorie continued projects with her spa consulting business including Kokora Springs in Lake County, Ca. When Covid arrived Marjorie went on sabbatical only to return to Las Alcobas as General Manager.
Charlton Spa Consulting was in the process of reviewing a new project in Hércules, Queretaro for both hospitality and spa services, and was enamored with the project and its potential. She decided to take the role of General Manager in 2023, and continue to create the Spa at Hotel Hercules.
